Job Title: Registered Nurse

Job Summary
This position entails preparing patients physically and emotionally for various endoscopic procedures, as well as performing and assisting in those procedures, recovery and discharge teaching. The RN applies the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementing, documenting and evaluating plans of care for assigned patients. He/she is responsible for following established standards of professional nursing practice as delineated by NEC, providing leadership and by working in a collaborative fashion with ancillary personnel and promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Participates in QA programs, in-services, staff meetings and contributes to the NEC team.
Qualifications
Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Pennsylvania
Minimum of one year of endoscopy, critical care or PACU experience and ACLS and BLS certification
Acceptable references
Physical demands: Demonstrates ability to physically implement all aspects of the staff nurse role
Emotional demands: Demonstrates emotional stability by being able to function appropriately and effectively in dealing with critical, unexpected or stressful situations.
Work Hazards
Contact with hazardous chemicals and/or drugs
Use of electric machines/equipment
Exposure to potentially combative or confused patients and/or families
Exposure to biological hazards and patient with infectious disease processes
